Fire Blind™ Systems

 

The Fireblind™ FBS3 residential curtain has been specially designed and developed to offer the ideal solution for homeowners, architects and interior designers, providing an unobtrusive passive automatic fire resistant barrier, specifically for kitchen, dining room and lounge areas, suitable for new build developments and refurbishments.

 

The curtain has been designed to retain fire temperatures up to and not to exceed 1200 degrees centigrade in accordance with BS7346 Part 22 1987 as tested by Bodycote Warringtonfire the recognised test and assessment centre.

 

The curtain is manufactured from a fire resistant material that complies with current building control regulations. The curtain head box/hood is generally installed into the ceiling void for aesthetic value. In its dormant position the curtain is not visible except for the bottom rail that can be polyester powder coat finished to a variety of colours to match the internal colour scheme. The curtain guides are recessed for visual effect.

 

The curtain is deployed into its operational position upon receipt of a signal from a control panel activated by a smoke/heat sensor. The curtain can be controlled manually for periodic testing.

 

The operational procedure is generally as follows;

The control panel is activated by a smoke/heat sensor, the curtain begins to deploy and then stops at a user selectable height to allow pedestrian escape. (The unit is now acting as a smoke curtain) Upon receipt of another signal from the control panel, again user selectable, the curtain will descend to its fully closed position. The unit has a battery back-up in the event of mains power failure ensuring secure operation of the curtain at all times.

 

Fireblind™ FBS3 Automatic Fire Curtains can include in the specification, a light beam sensor with an audible alarm, should an obstacle be placed within the descent path of the curtain.
